Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, creative founders of WICKED, were inspired by the 1995 Gregory Maguire story "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West".

This broadway musical has been hailed for its expansive backstory of Oz, giving The Wizard of Oz fans around the world a peek into Glinda and Elphaba (aka the Wicked Witch of the West). Wicked, despite its main characters starting off as enemies, it is a powerful tale about friendship and acceptance. With an incredible costume design and impressive special effects, WICKED teleports the audience direct to the wonderful world of Oz!

The musical first premiered in 2003, making it 21 years old. Since its inception, Wicked has gone on to surpass $1 BILLION in revenue on Broadway. Only The Lion King & The Phantom of the Opera have accomplished this remarkable achievement. WICKED has also DOMINATED theaters outside of Broadway, with records in Los Angeles, San Fransisco, St. Louis, and London.
