Synopsis

Taking place on the brink of the 20th century in 1899, Moulin Rouge! The Musical is set against the vibrant backdrop of Paris. The story follows a lovestruck poet hailing from England called Christian and a cabaret dancer named Satine. She performs at the glamorous Moulin Rouge club, often referred to as the spot “where all your dreams come true.”

As the tale unfolds on stage, Christian enters the club alongside like-minded companions: Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and the Argentinean Santiago. Meanwhile, the plot introduces the Duke of Monroth, a man motivated by both wealth and desire.

Moulin Rouge tells a love story that’s both romantic and forbidden. While Satine is head over heels for the English poet, she finds herself pledged to the Duke. The club manager promises her hand in marriage in return for financing the next cabaret show. As the young lovers rendezvous in secret, the dancer’s wedding day looms evermore closer. However, Satine guards a secret from both lovers.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical showcases all the fantastic original songs from the 2001 movie. But the show also includes beloved tracks that have dominated the charts over the 22 years since the movie premiered. AMAZING.
