History can be enthralling when you watch it with the highly acclaimed Broadway musical, "Six." You don’t have to be a history buff to enjoy "Six," though. Its message of girl power, brought home through amazing music, makes seeing this musical an memorable sensation.
The original Broadway musical production of "Six — The Musical" won two Tony awards, including for Best Score. After making its opening on the West End and moved to Broadway, you now have the ability to catch "Six" in Providence, Rhode Island. The touring production of "Six" will include the pulse-pounding music to Providence Performing Arts Center on Friday 24th October 2025.
"Six" started as a theatrical show by the Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society in 2017 in London, England. The excitement of those showings created an opportunity for a professional production that traveled across the UK in 2018.
"Six" made its official appearance on London’s West End in 2019. It had a well-received run until Covid lockdowns prevented performances for most of 2020.
The musical-comedy continued to grow in popularity and was went on a series of tours across the world. It finally moved to New York City, where it was the first new musical to begin performing on Broadway after COVID-19.
It continues to tour across the U.S.A. and the world today. An unique twist to the writing of "Six" was that Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss used actual musical icons to model the characters. They used inspiration from artists like Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Adele, Celine Dion, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, and Alicia Keys for the character development.

Six is that theatrical adventure you never knew you wanted, but you had not the faintest hint you wanted! If we're honest, no one could have predicted being a massive fan of a performance that parodies the lives of the wives of Henry VIII and envisions them performing a musical! The knowledge that you're going to want to “get” this production is in your school lessons. That might make an intriguing experience even before you reach the theater because it could be a good idea to brush up on what happened with each of Henry's wives before you visit Providence Performing Arts Center on Friday 24th October 2025. That way, you'll catch all of the clever references and the quips, especially between Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn.
